Founders Pledge exists to bridge this gap. We advise on, facilitate, and maximize the impact of our members’ giving.

We are a community of people who believe in taking action. Our role is to help you make the most effective donations possible in the fight against extreme poverty. Since our founding in 2013, we have compiled a list of research-backed charities working on interventions against the multidimensional factors of poverty, resulting in over $100 million donated to high-impact charities.

Our public institutions and especially the U.S. government does not operate with the urgency, flexibility, and innovation we need to solve the hardest problems of our time. Established systems perpetuate the status quo and underutilize high-impact technologies and strategies that have enormous potential to address inequities and improve outcomes. Local communities everywhere are too often kept from accessing the funding they need, while entrenched special interests continue to reap billions. Climate change, pandemics, and humanitarian crises accelerate our rapidly closing window of opportunity.

GlobalGiving is a nonprofit that supports other nonprofits by connecting them to donors and companies. The Global Fund for Community Foundations (GFCF) is a global, virtual organization with a small team, headquartered in Johannesburg. We have been working with the global community philanthropy field since 2006, and are all about building networks with like-minded organizations that see the power of people-led development.

JICA has set 20 JICA Global Agenda, that are cooperation strategies (20) for global issues to tackle complex development challenges such as healthcare, conflict and climate change. JICA also strengthens its efforts on priority groups of projects within each JICA Global Agenda as “Cluster Strategies”. These strategies are in line SDGs’ People, Planet, Prosperity and Peace, aiming to maximize impact through collaboration and co-creation with partner governments, as well as with diverse partners at home and abroad, with the purpose of realizing “human security”.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) promotes and protects Australia’s international interests to support our security and prosperity. We work with international partners and other countries to tackle global challenges, increase trade and investment opportunities, protect international rules, keep our region stable and help Australians overseas.

Global problems can only be solved through global cooperation. For instance, climate change can only be halted through joint action worldwide. This is an effort that depends particularly on many of our partner countries. If these countries manage to invest immediately in renewable energy instead of taking a detour via fossil fuels, the entire planet will benefit.

Because it is clear, of course, that it makes no difference whether a tonne of carbon is saved in Peru, India or Germany. Every reduction is equally important for global climate change mitigation, because climate change is global and the damage from climate change can be felt worldwide – in droughts in the Sahel, cyclones in the Ganges Delta and floods in northern Germany.

The same goes for the global fight against violence and armed conflict, providing support for refugees and offering assistance to their host countries and countries of origin, and also for the fight against global pandemics. All of this will only work with more cooperation, not with less.
